A simply remarkable film. Barbara Loden’s performance is absolutely fearless – this is a masterpiece of a verite style of filmmaking, the equal of Cassavetes at his very best, that puts to shame any of the so-called American “independent” cinema of today. This DVD is bare-bones basic – but it hardly matters, the film is so good.
