Dull, unfocused adaptation of a potentially fascinating story. Rather than zeroing in on the complex inner workings of the CIA, DeNiro shifts back and forth between Matt Damon’s expressionless phone calls to his contacts at the agency and the toll his job takes on his family life. The latter storyline drags the movie down, and the rest isn’t compelling enough to stand on its own.
